Driving Instructors

1st Central Driving School is the Driving School of Patrick Clarke, who will normally be your instructor if you book lessons with 1st Central, unless the customer expressly agrees to have their lessons sub-contracted to another instructor. Patrick Clarke is a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and currently uses a Vauxhall Astra 1.7 Envoy TDi for lessons booked with him (see above). Occasionally lessons have been sub-contracted to other instructors, but only with the expressed agreement of the customer being referred. It is strongly recommended that you check that your instructor displays the badge below in their vehicle. Only instructors displaying this badge have completed the necessary training legally required by the Driving Standards Agency to give paid professional driving instruction. Patrick Clarke's ADI number is 230780.

Patrick Clarke is registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to give Pass Plus lessons. All newly qualified drivers are strongly recommended to take this course. You may be eligible for a grant from your local council to help meet the cost of taking the course (please see separate page for more details). Patrick Clarke is registered with both Hampshire County Council and Portsmouth City Council to deliver their Young Driver Pass Plus road safety programmes.

He is a member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA).
